This was indeed excellent, a purple barolo not seemingly not from wood, different clone. Very classic nose of violets, tar and plenty of spice, with sour plum like fruit. Big and rich palate, huge tannin, great minerality and tension, explosive on finish thats loaded with fruit, flowers and minerals. Excellent stuff, however pricey...2004 vintage.

Decanted for 3 hours. Kalamata olive and forest floor. With some tar coming out around 4 1/2 hours in. Delish!

Stunning on day one, unfortunately totally mute on day two after it was corked overnight. Unbelievable noses of earth and flowers and truffles. Full bodied red fruit and seemingly full of life. Really delicious. ..not sure what happened afterwards.
