Popped and poured; consumed over three days. Best on Day 1. On the pop and pour, fresh ripe cherries with dried earth, roses and a sweet touch of baking spice. Good structure with tannins in the medium+ category; acid I would place at medium. On Day 2…the wine entered a sort of dumb phase. Structure was there but the fruit sort of became…unexciting. On Day 3 it was again transformed; more enjoyable with the fruit more interesting and an added desiccated characteristics to it. Leans a bit modern. A good wine but I’m unsure I like this more than the “classico”, to be honest. Drinking well now and will probably be enjoyable for the next 5-10 years…but not sure it’s worth waiting that long.
