Initially dominated by tar and blackberries eventually developing a balsamic character and then a smell reminiscent of pasture land and cedar chest. Tart dark fruits and finished with a kiss of savory. Plenty of structure with mouth coating acids and firm tannins. Should have a lovely life ahead of it. My first time with this producer and it certainly won’t be my last.

Garnet color, showing some early copper hues. Floral highlights on the nose - rose pedal and violets. Leather, clover and dried black cherry too. Soft red strawberry fruit is forward on the palate, with a burst of mid-palate acidity, transitioning into a chalky tannin finish. This is big boy Barbaresco. It screams for a meaty pairing. Drink with a long decant or lay down for 5+ years.
