Been on a petit verdot kick lately. 2012 was an “easy” year to get ripe PV and this one is not overripe. The beefy tannic structure is just what I would expect. Black plum, subtle blackberry notes, some mocha and oaky notes are most prevalent. It is a solid, but not stellar example of what WA state can do with the fruit. A good side by side for something of higher caliber or a second bottle. Price point for the varietal is also a good deal.
