Spritzy and funky upon opening. Not pleasant. After aggressive aeration and some time opening up it does show some nice fresh acid and savory herbal qualities. But overall not a very pleasant wine.

As you'll see from other reviews, this isn't for everyone. It's funky and smells baked. But I dig the unique, complex flavor profile: dried cherries, black and red currants, pencil shavings, herbs, and cedar. Almost like an acidic, Loire rendition of a Bordeaux. Yes, there is a slight effervescence, but it doesn't ruin the wine.
