Hyland Vineyard Riesling

Gorgeous. Nose is crystalline. Sweet cantaloupe, gorgeous minerality and its all presented in a narrow tunnel that is so focused. Some herbs as well. So clear and clean. Palate is equally as crystalline with stunning focus, precision and minerality. Just so taut and luscious with unreal juiciness. This is young and will continue to unwind. 9.4 for now but I will be back.

Terrific nose. So aromatic. So mineral. Huge acid and lovely lusciousness and a kiss of sweetness. Gorgeous purity and depth.

Oh yeah baby. Pfalzian. Insane minerality. Grapefruit. Tangelo. Pink grapefruit. So complex and engaging and sapid. Sticks to the palate. So pure. Wow. Complex and intense. Doing so so fine. Confectionary. Wow.

Been a while delectable family. Flu then covid and only 3 wines in that period. Well I am back and smell and taste are as they were before all of this. Nose has peach skin, some ripe peach flesh but not too ripe, confectionary aromas. Loads of wet stones and pulverized shale. Super aromatic. Like a cross between Pfalz/Alsace. Palate is lean and precise. Really clean, balanced and so pure. Fiercely mineral. Lovely peach flesh, skin and sap on the very long finish. Really juicy and engaging. Delicious!

What an exuberant nose of citrus, honey, sweet pink grapefruit, amazing depth and dripping with purity and vividness. Citrus oil and dazzling minerality. American Grosses Gewachs to the max here. Much more open and less shy than the 18 was at this stage. Wet earth, wet rocks as well. Enormously complex. Jellied citrus as well. Wow. Palate is full of citrus but also has a seriously stoney base. So juicy, luscious and straight as an arrow. Amazing focus and linearity with insane confectionery fruit flavors. So balanced and stunning purity. What a wine. Sickness. What a finish. The balance here is perfect and the finish lasts a minute! This has such classy citrus elements on the finish that dance and echo for minutes.

Superb mineral aromas. Confectionary and also peach, green apple and spice. But superb complex minerality. A pfalz vibe for sure. Palate is just electric with insane spice and juiciness. So pure and clean. Mouth coating and just so intense yet also is graceful. Spectacular pitter patter of minerality. So so juicy and vibrant. Excellent and has decades ahead of it. A stunner.

Fascinating nose. Fig, petrol, Apple spice cake, gorgeous minerality. Really really aromatic, compact and precise. Palate is bone dry, dense and super elegant. Very fine. Very refined. Juicy and lovely pure fruit and length. Peach pit, apricot pit, some apple skin. Really good structure and acid. But not in your face. So subtle and juicy. This is terrific. Serious and deep. This has it all. Besides being so so delicious this has depth and structure to age gloriously. What sap and length! Best domestic Riesling I’ve ever had.

Nose has confectioner sugar dusted lime wedge, (faint) over-ripe peach and green apple slice.

Palate has lime zest, dehydrated apple slice, dried peach, fresh green apple peel, fleeting thoughts of sweetness and faint mineral notes.

Notes at 24H, initially decanted 2H but very closed on the nose and palate, improved today with air.

Future bottles will appreciate some age, perhaps 2027+ minimum.

Lots of peach and spice! Floral honey too. Very pronounced rich flavors. This is not a shy riesling!! Finishes dry. I think there’s a little tiny RS but with the acidity, it is hard to find any sweetness.
