I pleasant surprise. Complex, layered, shows exactly what makes the SLD famous; finesse along with power. I'll buy more.

This is an outstanding Napa cab at a very reasonable price. It is toward the full-bodied side with wonderful layers of black cherry, with a hint of caramel and toffee. If you're familiar with the Monticello Jefferson Cuvée, this is quite comparable and every bit as good.

A bit of prune on the nose and mid-palate and with an aftertaste that reminds me of Apple Jacks cereal when I was a kid. The childhood memories aside, I'm not a fan of prune juice, but for those who do, you might rate this higher.
