The one and only. Tear in and year out one of the best Spätlese in Germany. What a nose. Rich vivid apricot, nectarine and peach. Wow the fruit is like 4D! So sick. This is so deep and so clear. What a nose. This is a 9.8 nose. Holy moly. Herbs and stones in the background. Wow palate is so finessed but also unctuous and rich with rich apricot flavors and lovely energy and persistence. Fresh and invigorating but also has nice richness to counterbalance. A baby now but decades to go before it sleeps. If it will ever sleep. 9.6 for now but this will open. With air the lovely saffron aromas are coming out.

Sep 8th, 2022Zowie Batman, this is always one of the top Spatlese of the vintage in the Mosel and this 2016 is epic. Stunning nose of peaches, apricots and Hühnerberg spices. Insane slate perfume. Just out of control. Palate has tons of sweet peaches and peach juice with epic juiciness and even a honeyed element but so precise and straight as an arrow. So long and obviously young but what a spectacular Spatlese.

48hr Update: Nose has overripe white peach and apricot, light green herbs crushed on slate slabs, so damn powerful I'm at full loss of speech. Palate has incredible overripe apricot, crushed slate/chalk soup, so syrupy it's ridiculous. Like 100 people throwing super ripe peaches at you as if they were all Randy Johnson in their prime years, ouch but delicious! The greatest Müllen Spätlese I've experienced. Going from original post at 9.4 to 9.6 tonight, just amazing...
72hr Update: Not losing a step, going strong as ever!

Still very tight but incredibly pure. Not the peach explosion as some other vintages, but very very good with a heavier sashimi plate. Regret that perhaps I have drank this to soon
