The wine has a deep ruby color, very dark, with a nose sporting blackberry, clove, vanilla and light cedar notes. The palate shows more blackberry and oak spice with a smattering of cassis and a nice acidity. There are great tannins and a good grip, the better for pairing with any kind of meat you like. Calms beautifully second night open.

"fermented and small lots, with three days of cold soaking before maceration, this 2000 vintage pours into the glass so opaque it's almost at Malbec levels of inkiness. Stick your nose in there for fresh-picked berries, mint, and pepper. You can tell these grapes took their time to ripen, blasted by sun during the day and coated in Santa Barbara fog at night. La Bamba springs on the palate with an enthusiasm that's quite rare for cabs - blackberry, spices and rich coffee.". One of the best ones I've had this year. Superb, fruity, bold, and a very memorable wine.

Nice medium big Napa cab. Great w food. Lots of fruit forward and some smooth tannins w good acidity. Thanks again @Jeremy Gold !!
