Marqués de Colbert
Reserva Utiel-Requena Tempranillo Blend
2017 vintage. Continued haus, cheap-chicken, juice research. Light-medium body. Peppery finish. Decent length of finish. As lean as a catwalking model but (slightly) less sexy. This one is gonna be tuff to beat at $5.99 a bottle at Trader Joe’s. 12.18.23.

Dec 19th, 2023Krissy entered this TJ wine into Thanksgiving ‘23 blind wine constest. Held strong as easy drinking wine ( tad watery, not a fan of finish at first but more opened up more I liked finish). Overall great house wine for larger parties due to great cost

Nov 23rd, 2023Pop and pour through an aerator. Color is ruby.
NOSE: wood, spice, and cherry. Milk chocolate. Smells better than I expected.
TASTE: odd. Has a slight dairy quality, almost like lacto fermentation. (This went away with air) Fresh ground pepper. Fruit is Pomegranate - the bitterness from unripe pomegranate and its rind is there too. Cedar came out with air. Wife likes it - I didn’t, but am rethinking my position. Air improved it, then it worsened. (From lacto fermentation to nice spicy wood to smelling like vinegar). Very odd. Couple sips the next day are better still …for $6, I will try again. Will score the second time round.
