Founded in 1970, first release in 1975, Marqués de Cáceres the Rioja bodega was established by Henri Forner, whose family has been active in the wine business for generations. Blend of 85% Tempranillo, 8% Garnacha tinta & 7% Graciano. Deep red, ripe fruit, soft spice. Had this a year ago, aged nicely. On the palate blackberry and plum flavors with espresso, cacao & smoky oak notes. Well balanced smooth tannins, lingering finish with lively acidity. Nice value for a Gran Reserva with more room to age.

A little young. Fresh red cherries and baked cherries. Leather, coco, and mushrooms. I should of sat on it. I would wait another ten years for the 2009.

This expressive mouthwatering Rioja explodes across the pallet with flavours of dried dark fruit, tart red berries, leather, tobacco, medium oak and vanilla on the back note! It is a symphony of perfectly balanced fruit flavours dryness and acidity!

Great Rioja! Strongly reminded me of Ink on the nose. Rich plum flavor, easier to drink than most Rioja Gran Reserva. Well structured and long on the palate. Great with cashews.

Dry, high acidity with high tannins and medium body. Intense flavors of game and licorice, long finish. Very good
