Mark Ryan Winery
The Vincent Cabernet-Syrah Blend
Dark purple with ruby highlights. Abundant nose and medium full palate of brambly blackberry and patent leather. Juicy, medium plus acidity balances the smooth mouthfeel (light malo?). That plus medium minus tannins marks this as a very nice midrange food wine. Enjoy with lighter cuts of beef.

Medium bodied with cassis, pomegranate, orange zest, cedar plank, oregano.
Car Cara acidity and cedar plank tannins wrap this up into a great little package.

Nose closed with slight offering of plum and wet stones. Very smooth sweet and dark, plums, raisins, baking spice, black cherries. Fine tannins and medium - acid. Competent but unremarkable. I lose both the Cab and the Syrah in the blend.

Full bodied and thick almost syrupy mouth feel. Lots of berry/cherry with an earthy vanilla sweetness. Long finish, good tannins balanced with slight acidity and not too dry at all. Really well balanced and changed my opinion of Cab Sav, it wasn't super oaky and dry at all, maybe because it was a blend. Paired excellent with my steak!

I think it's too bright for me. A lot of tannins. Kind of bitter. The brightness settled down. I like it.

Apr 8th, 2017Beautiful dark purple color. Nose sees some vanilla, dark, damp fruits like blackberries. Tinderbox. Palette sees underripe berries and raspberries, brambles, gravel, and a healthy dose of tannins.
