Oct 29th, 2022Blinded it as Grenache/Cinsault blend (more Cinsault). Juicy and crunchy red cherry, red plum, raspberry, cranberry juice, and pomegranate, crushed stone, dark licorice, pepper, and dirt. Medium minus acidity, medium+ ripe and smooth tannins, medium body, good intensity, medium length with a dusty tang... Tastes and smells like a natural wine, slightly out of balance due to low acidity, there’s the purity of fruity but a somewhat hollow mid palate.

Sep 1st, 2020For stage 15 of #TourdeFrance into Carcassone, we played the Castle while watching the show. Bright cherry on this Languedoc. But flavors a bit muddled. Nothing to really stand out.

Jul 22nd, 2018Came across another bottle. In 2005 Marie and Frédéric Chauffray stumbled across the perfect plot of land—25 acres on the plateau of Arboras in Terrasses du Larzac, situated in the Langeudoc. They sold the prestigious wine shop they owned outside Paris and embarked upon the dream of making wine, together founding Domaine de La Réserve d'O. Vivid Ruby, with berry fruit and sweet spice aromas. Cherry and strawberry mocha with spice and fine tannins. Lingering finish with ending with mineral notes. Nice Value!

Jun 24th, 2017Not in love. Well made and certainly not lacking in character, just not the type of character I'm into for French. Bright cherry, hint of spice, lingering acidity. A good exercise in wine objectivity for me.
