Marcel Lapierre
Cuvée Camille Morgon Gamay

Warm vintage cru Beaujolais sourced from a tiny plot in the Côte du Py vineyard. There’s a lot to be said about the fruit-forward spiciness, but for me the nuances are flattened by a richness I associate with a higher ABV - the wines that are coming to mind are Williams Selyem’s pinots rather than a Beaujolais or Burgundy. Not really for me but a worthwhile avenue to explore if you want to try a different, relatively subtler version of a big red.
