14.3% ABV.
I’ve always had difficulties understanding how (some) critics can compare this to Burgundy.
Clos Saint-Denis or Clos de la Roche? For real?

I understand preference and reference points but enough with the nonsense.
This is uniquely California.
And as such it is STELLAR.

WNH event number 3...new world Pinot. Such a treat to experience the many different variations of Pinot!

One of my bottles. After getting these in a few weeks back, I was like a kid on Christmas to see how it was tasting. All the check marks for this to be a knockout in a few years. Wonderful red and black fruit medley with sharp acidity. Mineral/graphite on the palate and sandalwood. Toasted black cherries and ripe plum.

1 hour decant (some cloudy sediment). A murky medium dark garnet color. On the nose: strawberry, funky forest floor, mushroom, cinnamon, and caramel. Taste: strawberry, spice, pencil lead, minerals...leading to a raspberry medium plus finish. A soft, creamy, medium to full body wine with tannins starting to integrate but not fully resolved yet...give this some more time...a better score should evolve over time!!

Patiently (not really) waiting for the 2013 chard and pinot release

This is so good...in a great spot now. Could get a little better in a year or two but I really enjoy these when the fruit is still prominent.
