Marc Delienne
Arpay À la Folie Saint-Amour Gamay
Of the 2020 releases from Marc Delienne (which has been quite the trip to work through), this was the cheapest, cleanest, and my favourite. Needs a little air to unfurl aromas of pomegranate, raspberry, and tomato leaves. Bright and juicy, with a rich texture to boot. Nice underlying minerality and spice. Finished in one seating, so a one in the binary scale.

All that air has made this quite a different beast from the first bottle we had about a month ago. It's crazy how floral it became overnight. Plus a touch of eucalyptus that just tickles the nose. So intoxicating! Full of pep on the palate. It's light-bodied, super fruity, with fresh acidity, and good minerality - just keeps you going until the bottle's empty before you know it. A bottle for one if you ask me. Yum!
