Dark purple with opaque black core. Inviting nose and medium full palate of black currant, ripe blackberries, and new leather. Medium tannins that gain assertiveness over time. Medium plus acidity. Syrah as it was intended to be. Ready for all sorts of dinner from beef roast to (yes) hearty salmon preparations. Drink now through 2029.

Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.

Medium-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Very dry on the palate with mild complexity and a harsh mouthfeel.

Showing red and black fruits with oak, tobacco leaf, light vegetables, earth, herbs, light barnyard, tar and peppercorn.

Tangy finish with round tannins and raspberries.

This Syrah from Northern Rhone is still very young, and a little harsh on the palate. A little bitter for my taste.

Good by itself and better with food.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.

100% Syrah

13.5% alcohol by volume.

88 points.

$35.

Dark ruby purple. Inviting nose and medium full palate of blackberry and old leather. Juicy acidity and medium tannins entry to lengthy, palate-continuing finish. Now this is what Syrah is supposed to be (at this price point). Dark fruit and food-friendly acidity make an excellent companion to almost any red wine dish. Texas barbecue was my choice for the evening. Drink now through 2029.

Deep Ruby with aromas of ripe black fruits and earthy spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, plum and cherry with spice and earthy pepper. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, espresso, spice and mineral character.

Deep Ruby with a nose of ripe red fruits and simple spice. On the palate cherry and raspberry flavors, current like, with nice balance and light touch of spice. Medium finish smooth tannins ending with some mineral tones. Not very complex, but pricy. Tasting Sample!
