Maison Angelot
Vin du Bugey Mondeuse Noir
Very happy to try this unusual alpine grape. Aroma presents straightforwardly fruity at first, with notes of cranberry and wild raspberry, but with time develops some mineral funk, some gamey/muskiness, and some vegetal characteristics. Medium tannins, medium+ juicy acidity. For me, this sits somewhere between a Cru Beaujolais and a Loire Cab Franc. Nice!

Oct 13th, 2017Peppery, floral, herbal, with roses, violets, juniper and thyme. Reminds a little of Ruche. Beautiful little Alpine wine.

Nov 23rd, 2016My first (I believe) Mondeuse. Fresh, crunchy red fruits, firm acidity and nice spice. A pleasant, affordable ($13) departure from the everyday
