Dark ruby in the glass. Nose of black cranberry and dark plum. Echoed on the fruit-forward (for Europe) palate with a tart leathery note on the finish. Medium full body. Medium minus tannins make for an elegant sipper or a solid food wine. This vintage continues to overperform at seven bucks.

Delicious! Perfect sipper for a Saturday Blizzard. Rich, round taste with deep plum and jammy flavors. Oak and vanilla/spice notes on the finish. Easy drinking without a strong bite. For 7 bucks, this wine is a diamond in the rough. Will buy again and again.

This is a nice fruit forward Syrah from Spain.

Showing black fruits with chocolates, oak, vanilla, licorice, mocha, maple, peppercorn, spices and earth.

Full body and bold with medium minus acidity.

Dry to off dry on the palate and feels like a new world wine.

Nice finish with round tannins and cherries.

Good by itself or with food. Easy drinking and simple. A good everyday wine.

A blend of 90% Syrah and 10% Syrah.

14% alcohol by volume.

86 points.

Clear dark purple in the glass. Intense nose of herbs and purple fruit. Medium full bodied palate leads with dark purple fruit, yielding to menthol, currant, and a hint of herby anise. Medium plus(!) tannins and medium acidity make this a wine as comfortable with a sit-down dinner as with medium cheeses or cookout fare. Some serious hooch in this bottle, and at seven bucks it’s a stellar QPR. If this is what happens when the Old World takes aim at the young New World market, I’m all for it! Again: seven bucks!

Starts off with berry and heavy vanilla toffee notes. As it opens, the sweetness dissipates into plum, cherry notes. A bit sweet but not bad.

so never trust my reviews if you are serious about your wines. Here’s a great example why. I bought this because of the name. Same name of the store in Buffy. Yeah, silly, I know, but, I’m a silly girl. I also buy wine if I like the design or shape of the bottle. It’s hit or miss if I like or love them but I never really hate them. I like alcohol as long as it’s not too too sweet. 🙃
