Part 1 of the final and main event for the Fall WNH. The most spectacular lineup of wines I’ve ever seen, and an overall wonderful ending to an amazing trip with fantastic people.
Only had a few Macauley wines, but each has been a big hit. Big Napa Cab...toasted vanilla oak, rich black and blue baked fruit. The core/mid palate of this wine is powerful...black and red streaked ripe fruits with Christmas spice, and a dusty/smokey note before the flavor packed finish. Great stuff, @Mike R .

It felt a bit on the edge. This was a bottle bought not direct from the producer so might have had some impact. Color was not browning but not the normal clean purple so I’m hoping others are better.

Spicy oak frames a core of cassis, dark cherry, chocolate. More power than plush. I’m sure it will soften a bit more with air.
