Feels like the proper libation to reflect on a wonderful Napa trip. That said, can anyone tell me why the geniuses at Macallan bailed on age-naming their Scotches? This is the last of my 18's, in a class all their own, velvety smooth and a core of orange citrus and burnt rind, earthy light peat. Sweet on so many levels.

Still overpriced, but this scotch is still one of the richest sherry finished malts around that doesn't go overboard (as some might claim of the Aberlour Abunadh.) Thick and substantive in the mouth, it's giving with piney malt and rich red fruit from the sherry butts. Perfect neat - like all good whisky.

Oct 1st, 2015Citrusy-candied nose. Velvety smooth, caramelized orange laced with vanilla. Still my favourite value-yuminess point in the range.
