Very dark garnet, full nose of earth and black fruits. Once aired fairly smooth, full bodied, medium & even tannins, mild acidity. Black plum, maybe blackberry, some earth and leather.

Found this a bit lean but delicious all the same. Tight right off the bat but opened with dark red fruit, spice and maybe some notes of bacon fat. Great fleshy texture that I find in many of Chapoutier's Syrahs.

An Racy and elegant St-Jo, with typical notes of sun syrah: pepper, black fruits, smoked bacon, leather, charcoal... medium body, straight finish. Immediate pleasure and correct q/p ratio, well played Chapoutier.
