Petite Ruche Crozes-Hermitage Rouge Syrah

Unfortunately this wine (or just this bottle?) is past its peak. Low acids and gone is the geist and energy of just one year ago.

2013: good typicity; black pepper, cloves and violets. More of a black fruited style, blackberry, currant. Medium to light bodied, fresh Livy acid, hardly any tannin. A supple easy drinker, with decent Syrah aromatics. Smoky, black peppery length, with some twist of exotic spice (cardamon)

Super tasty, spot on aromas.

Black pepper and blackberries. Light and a little dusty. Solid!

Gave it a good score - don't remember it. Rose, olives, fresh cracked pepper.

Deep purple ruby. Ripe Raspberry and black cherry flavors. Medium finish. medium tannins. Herbal with some garrigue. Alcohol is average so doesn't overpower the other flavors. Good quality.

*2013* A complex, bold and spicy taste that lingered on my palate well after the first sip. Best paired with a meat such as lamb.
