Beautiful Meritage for the price $28 retail and about $55 at restaurants. Pairs exceptionally well with a juicy steak. Classic Bordeaux aromas lead to nice structure, dusty tannins and lengthy finish. Very complex for the price.

A great sipping wine, probably good with a nice steak or salmon.

2014 vintage. 41 Petit Verdot 27 Malbec 19 Cab Sauv 10 Cab Franc 2 Carménère 1 Merlot. Prefer it with a little chill, as it shows more structure and darker fruit profile. At room temp, jammy red fruits and overt toasted oak dominate the profile. Cooler: black currant, blackberry, black fig, mulberry, toasted coconut, almond skin, walnut, nutmeg, black rocks, dried violets, tobacco. Pretty good complexity at the right temp, though overly confected if too warm.
