My favorite Hermitage Blanc of Michelle Luyton and sadly her last. A stunning nose of ridiculous minerality, lime zest, some yellow fruits and tons of granite infused goodness. So much granite. Expansive and airy and with endless depth and top notch mineral clarity. Palate is so elegant and nimble and just glides like an eagle. Moderate concentration and so much texture. Unreal depth and purity. If this said Chave on the label it would be $300 plus. It’s that great. Nose opens with wood shavings and tree bark. Glorious energy on the palate and the freshness is from the mineral energy first and the acid second. Wow this is long and meandering but a focused meandering. Luscious. A brilliant wine. Now as if opens nose gets dizzying spice and unreal wood shavings. Such a compact palate and I can’t get over how incredible the focus is.

What a beaut. This took about an hour to open, but when it did it sung out. Yellow grape, cotton candy, green plum, kiwi, orange cream, saltwater taffy. A nice lick of butter cream. All this while remaining lean, tart and exceptionally balanced. Lovely wine.

Surprising little fruit at first- a hint of pineapple and buttered toast, but as this opens over 3-4 days it really sings. Confectionary notes, some exotic spice, and the minerals are wild... mouth whalloping. Just tremendous spice, and stunning length through the finish.

Glorious nose of wild mint, wax, tree bark, pine resin, pine needles, some grilled nuts and just wonderfully pure. Superb richness but also fresh and pure aromas. 9.6 nose. So complex and nuanced. Palate is so elegant, so rich and has tremendous mineral freshness. Barely any fruit and such engaging and aggressive mineral and hay flavors. Amazing length and depth. Wow that length. Unreal texture and mid one can get lost in and that unique hermitage minerality. Superb. Needs air

One of my favorite white wines ever. Amazing spice. Glorious yellow fruits. Hint of confectionary sweetness. Glorious lanolin. Full Hermitage Blanc symphony in effect. Palate is elegant, juicy, dry and structured. Almost tannic on the finish with just insane freshness from the minerality. Endlessly juicy finish. Really sticks to the palate. So good. So elegant. Just a masterful value white hermitage.

At six this is glorious. Nutty, rich and superbly complex on the nose, yellow fruits, hint of fresh butter, such great clean lanolin like minerality. A sea air aspect as well. Just wonderful. Fresh, like really fresh and very energetic. Super clean. Long balanced and very pure. Yellow waxey fruits on the palate and such long finish that seriously lingers. Great.

In a fantastic place. Nose has some aged nuttiness, minerals, ripe tropical fruit. Gorgeous granite. Palate is so good. Rich, nutty, complex, serene, opulent and balanced. So fresh, energetic and pure. Slight icing on cake texture. So good. Finishes bone dry and super mineral. Long. Great inner mouth aromas. Great nutty and also youthful fruit. White Hermitage is a wine of contradictions. Not easy to understand, suck when closed, but when you catch one at the right moment, it’s great. This is a brilliant showing. Just epic.

Sick sick wine that is really in the ZONE. Sick nose. Honeysuckle, iris, white flowers, tropical fruits, big granite and wet stones. Complex and airy with wonderful layered and nuanced complexity. Baroque yet chiseled. Rich, unctuous and textured with fabulous custard like texture and lovely acidic snap. Big structure but it’s so juicy and so balance it’s ridiculously drinkable. Long finish of earth and wet stones with some honey. Stunning.

Wow. Quite a shock. The Rhone white potency is perfectly integrated. Wow. Worth 2-3 times what I paid for this. Sick acidity. Integrated fruit. Not even as good as it will be. Wish I Had a case of this. Lyle? Any left? Bought from Fass selections.
