This is a very nice example of Durell vineyard Chardonnay. Mango pith, gravelly, and sweet orchids on the nose. It’s quite lean, but not overly so. Balanced on the palate. Tart but smooth. Not super acid driven. Sea salt and honeysuckle with lemon oil and some added limestone.

The wine is a deep golden color that reminds me of peaches in syrup but it is dry and flinty, very little fruit. Not much oak. A rather restrained white that probably does better with food, let me fix myself a snack. Edit: with time and a warm up, the mouthfeel rounds out into a smoother texture, still dry but with some yellow peach.
