Lucienne Doctors Vineyard is one of the finest Pinot Noir‘s available in California today. It is medium bodied with a bright acidity as you would expect, but Lucienne also brings and earthy spice, with warm vanilla.
No matter how many times I have this wine I always enjoy it.

Nariz: frambuesa, regaliz, especies

Boca: Tanino M/M-, Acidez M-, Alcohol M+

Me parece fuera de balance, poca acidez y mucho alcohol. A tomar ahora.

A lively shade of burgundy with a wide brim. A fun, funky nose of black tea, wild berries, sage, and underbrush. What an unbelievably huge Pinot. Dense, rich, and ripe. That may be the Pinot many people are out here looking for, but not me. High acid and flabby, this is just out of whack for me. All the components of a perfectly pleasant Pinot are here, but it’s all just so big. More sage, thyme, boysenberry pie, and far too much oak on the palate. Could’ve been. Should’ve been.
