A fav CdP paired to excellent Persian kebabs. Great fruit intensity for a 22y old. Nose of maraschino cherry, candied strawberry, blood orange, and mint. Palette - I don’t know! A lot going on and quite a lot of fruit still, and a stew of other complex flavors. Reminds me of a barley wine. Still has a background of faint, supportive tannin and acid. This may not get much better, but I’m not in a rush to open my last bottle.

1998 Le Dieux Donjon Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Bday dinner for K w GD & YD at Il P. Peppery, inky, big. Decanted immediately and waited over an hour to pour and still big. Luscious and delicious. None of us had ever had it before and we really enjoyed it.
