Dolcetto d'Alba
#dolcettodalba
Inky purple color. After and aeration and decanting the nose gave me raisins and chocolate. The palate is fruit forward with black plums with notes of chocolate in the finish. It’s good with baked ziti with meat sauce.

Intense blackberries and black cherries, dark purple color, dash of anise, chocolate and plum. White pepper.
Something initially on the nose; green peppers, mushrooms, barnyard? But it mellowed out after a few minutes.
Soft, smooth, silky...very nice.

Dinner w/Barbara Sandrone. A respectable Dolcetto (and from Alba, not Dogliani). Pared quizzically w/dessert, but it still fared ok. With its high toned fruit, medium body, and sharp acidity, this is more of an appetizer wine.
