Cannubi Boschis Barolo Nebbiolo

A tawny edge when swirled. First impressions - a powerful wine. “A Man’s Wine”… (you can only get away with that these days if you’re over 70!). Tannins have calmed in 17 years. Menthol, liquorice, earth and balsamic notes. Full bodied with finer grained tannins developing. Tasting this - many years left in the drinking window. From an excellent Barolo vintage. I might leave the last 07 until 20 years old in 2027.

2007 - very young but full of potential. Beautiful fruit.

From Barolo's most famous vineyard, Cannubi Boschis. Translucent ruby, almost weightless with multiple layers of dark ripe fruit that touches the pallet with grace and elegance. Licorice, tar and a perfect integration of sweet toasted oak. Near perfect balance.

Dark cherry & plum fruit, balsamic, mocha, licorice spice, tar & dried rose petal. This is massively structured in a rich, ripe & full bodied style. Beautiful now but better in 5 yrs.

Xmas 2016 drink. Smooth and chalky texture. Good fruit of blackberry, raspberry and mineral tone. Balance wine and tannin is integrated after 2hrs decanting. A good barolo
