Only black from edge to edge. Intense aromas of black fruit plum compote, black pepper and vanilla. The ripeness of the fruit brings natural acidy to the party of black and blue fruit. The finish hangs on for an eternity with dried herbs, dusty gravel and molasses. If Darth Viader drinks wine, this would be his favorite!

Nice vintage from Monte Rosso! Blackberry, pepper, clove, hint of minerality. Good balance and texture.

2005 vintage was still good but perhaps past its prime. It had raisin and prune dried fruit character, big alcohol (label said 15%) and earth and dark spice notes.

I believe we caught this '04 at the tail end of its lifeline. The nose was aggressive with alcohol upon opening but settled throughout the next few hours. It did not turn but I could note the flavors were almost prune-like. There were moments where I caught the characteristics of the concentrated Zinfandel vines but they were few and far between. I wish we opened this a few years ago.

I absolutely love this vineyard but I am not too sure this wine is my favorite. The wife loved this wine as I expected, this is a bit too high octane for me, although it is high alcohol it is not sweet. It is definitely balanced. I can appreciate it for what it is. I still believe Bedrock makes the best monte rosso zin!
