A one year departed check in since our last bottle.

Nose has buttered pineapple, ripe mango, toasted bread, ripe plantain and white flowers.

Palate has buttery ripe peach, over-ripe pineapple and a touch of flinty minerality. Medium acidity. Overall lacking some concentration that will come together with longer aging.

This wine should be ready for 93-95 points in 2021-23, all the pieces are there, just youthful today.

Decanted ~3 hours.

I love this wine, and hope to never run out (for a while at least)! To be paired with generous slabs of steelhead trout on the grill now.

Acidity, tropical fruits and great mineral core! Please see my prior notes, 2013 vintage is awesome.

Nose has flinty pineapple, ripe mango, moist light oak and white flowers.
Palate has warm stone fruit mash, incredible passion fruit mousse, chalky-ripe yellow peach, light on the acidity, but incredibly long finish.
Solid wine but the acidity of the 2013 version (previously posted) is missing. 😐

Photos from our visit to Jadot from the Spring of 2018, the red wine barrel room packed full-full-full of 2017's, the ceiling of their fermentation room of all wood structure with massive/beautiful spans, the wood vats used for initial processing of new red fruit and our bottle of the evening. I wish we could have tasted any vintage of this wine when we visited, but alas it didn't make it into our lineup.

Stanky and so pure. Baked apples. Elegant and balanced. Awesome acidity. As good as much more famous wines. Acidity is insane on this.

Nose of mango, pineapple core, medium oak, distant white flowers.

Palate is incredibly smooth and oak influence does not get in the way, great acidity balance, pineapple, pebble-y minerals, evolving more with each sip...

I feel this Chardonnay is drinking just wonderful at 5 years of age. We'll enjoy this with some beautiful salmon, hitting the grill next! A little hard to find Ladoix, but well worth it, seek and be rewarded.

48hr Update: Barely losing a step, wow, practically the same as day one! Absolutely awesome wine.
