Red & Black, Red & Black , over and over.
Beautifully young , ‘23 stuff from Desvignes.
Opened for 3 hrs. No decant. With a dish of asparagus/shitakes/rhubarb…delicious. Earth and tart. With air and time in the glass, this develops a meatier, denser bottom and
a nice tannic backbone, always med-light body. Refreshing.

Really very nice. Quite a classic Beaujolais - couldn’t mistake for anything else. Opened 5 hours ahead, no decant, proper chill. Lots of cherry and pepper and a string of earth. Excellent mouthfeel and acid and a nice long finish. Very enjoyable and a good value.

Aug 31st, 2025Not quite as together as I was hoping. Gave it a good decant but it’s just a bit disjointed. Maybe just too young. Nose is promising with good fruit and minerality, and the palate mostly carries that - but in a very subdued way with a slightly almost bitter note on the finish.
