Now for this bottle I was quick to appraise. The overtly toasty aromas, blocky structure, and strawberry compote-like fruit profile certainly made it difficult to get pass the half bottle mark, even with three in the party. However, we persevered and got to the final few pours, which did provide compelling argument that the wine may come around with age - the toasty nature subdued and beautiful floral notes appearing in place, as well as hints of earthy, almost-stony notes. Another bottle to leave untouched for the next five years, although I have inkling the ripeness of the vintage may never be tamed.
