The light maroon hue belies the heft the wine. The body is there, but dissipates quickly. It’s a Sangiovese-wannabe. Is that a hint of tobacco? A dash of pepper? Does it mimic Syrah? It’s a great wine at a great price. Beef short ribs in a Nebbiolo reduction.
