AR-2 Malbec Blend

This is a very enjoyable Argentinian Malbec Blend, from the house of Dave Phinney. Showing black fruits with earth, wood, vanilla, vegetables dark coffee, herbs, tobacco leaf, spices, peppercorn and chocolates.

Full bodied with medium acidity and nice legs. Dry and spicy on the palate.

This non vintage is a few years old, and might not be in its peak anymore. However, it is still drinking nicely with nice complexity and mouthfeel. I'd recommend drinking it while fresh.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with cheeses and crackers.

A blend of mainly Malbec with some Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for 10 months in oak barrels. Grapes are grown in the Uco Valley in Mendoza.

2013 Vintage. Dark and brooding. Best AR yet.

Yet again an entire country under the California gaze; it tastes just like if phinney made a malbec.

Fruity but not overly jammy, with some spicy notes and nice balance. Good value at $15. Would be nice with grilled beef.

Good Malbec blend when in mood for very fruit forward wine. One of Dave Phinney of Orin Swift location wines. Good for 1-2 glasses then too fruity.

This was a gift from Rick and Nancy - couple that came to Rectory dinner with father John. Brian and I drank at home.

Great for the price

I'm sold on Location's wine. This blend isn't super dry (my preference) but it's not sweet either (no thanks). Will be buying more from them.
