Barnyard nose with black currants, plums, bell pepper, black cherries, oak, cloves, earth, light vanilla, tobacco and black pepper.
Medium bodied with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, plums, cherries, currants, wood, vanilla, licorice, cloves, spices, bitter vegetables, dark chocolates, tobacco, herbs and peppercorn.
Medium finish with soft tannins and bitter greens.
This California Merlot is unbalanced and simple, with lots of bitter notes. Not worth the calories for me...
Might be a little better in a year.

Tallgrass. Light body. Uncomplicated not special but smooth and easy to drink. 50/50 would drink again.

Eh, tried it because it was on sale. Not as smooth as I prefer. Probably won't purchase again. I prefer others.

Feb 21st, 2018Great blend of fruit and low acid and minimal tannins. We mixed 2/3 this with 1/3 LBD merlot, and it was exceptional!

Jan 10th, 2017Great nose with strong black pepper and currants. The taste is smooth, rich blend with lots of plum. Great sweeter finish with vanilla aftertaste. Tasted against cycles gladiator, and liked this one slightly better,
