Maggie was once a student under Manfred Krankl, this bottle was her second vintage. Shows a restrained nose even after 3 hours after the decant. Hints of wild game and blackberry compote on the nose. Sweet tannins that integrate well and provide backbone. Layers of cassis, plum and wild flowers set up a stellar finish that sails for over a minute.

Still presenting huge fruit, the wine works well as a whole and is really enjoyable to drink.

Comparing '06 Lillian and '07 Syrahs. Lillian is nicely balanced and softer tannins. Nice black fruit and peppery. Very fine wine. Beyer in 5 years when the fruits darken more.

State of the art, a pleasure for the mouth and nose. Incredibly nice balanced. Full of black fruit.
