Les Franches
Pouilly Fume Sauvignon Blanc
Star bright pale straw. Inviting nose of green apple and orange rind, echoed on the medium light palate with classic flinty mineral mid palate to finish. Excellent “original” Fumé from a top Loire producer. Ready for shellfish (most naturally), classic white wine fare, or your favorite soft to medium cheese plate. Drink now through 2030.

Oct 2nd, 2021Great example of Sauvignon Blanc - light on its feet, mineral packed, exhibiting a bouquet of lemongrass, white pears, underripe grapefruit, white pepper, jasmine, and a zip of acidity to brighten it up.

Oct 3rd, 2017Kinda dark. Way too low acidity. Not like previous bottle of the same vintage. Flawed. 🙁

Dec 8th, 2022The mouth feel Reminds of a very light bodied Chardonnay in some ways but has that citrusy Sauvignon Blanc kick. I think I like it a lot?

Dec 2nd, 2020Grapefruit, flint, grassy herbs, Meyer lemon, and hints of chalk. Drinks very easily without being boring. Refreshing with a delicate, but tasty finish. Great for these 110 F Phoenix summers.

Aug 3rd, 2020Straw hue. Fresh, tart apple, pear, and citrus notes with delicate floral, chalky and stone influences. Lively on the palate — opening it up — and complementary of the dish. Vintage 2018. ABV 12.5%.

Apr 2nd, 2020First dinner with Duszaks and brought as sister wine. ASB but distinctly different profile although still varietal similarity that's more fruit and acids with a lift on finish. A lighter wine on its feet than Reverdy and also a terrific wine. Also did not pair perfectly but did reasonably well.
