Rich crimson in colour. Lost a lot of upfront Berry fruit. Still dark chocolate notes with the Tannins being a little grippy. Overall somewhat one dimensional. I thought there might be a bit more complexity at 13 years age. With time some notes of camphor/menthol/eucalypt which is a Clare Valley hallmark particularly with Wendouree. Astringent at the end. Just a bronze medal at 87 points.

Oct 5th, 2018This wine won the Trophy for Best Aged Vintage Red at the 2012 Sydney Royal Wine Show. Can't see it myself. Some hints of camphor/menthol and earthy nuances typical of Clare Cab Sauv. Youthful still at 10 years and Full bodied. A good wine but no Trophy. An improved showing 118 weeks later on 30 April 2018. A full bodied Clare Valley Cabernet where the black currant and other black fruits take over the leafy Cabernet Notes.
