The Le Vieux Pin Syrah 2013 Cuvée Violette is a perfumed, spicy beauty. The dark berries in this wine show so well and are wrapped in classic Syrah spice. What's very interesting to the geekier among us is that the Syrah was co-fermented with Roussanne, not Viognier as is the norm. -- Wineshout.com

A less friendly syrah than the other two I tried at the winery. Sharper fruit with more of a pepper burn. Firm tanins. Might do well with some years in bottle.

Best Rhone style wine in the valley... Except perhaps for their Equinox. Pepper leather and beautiful dark fruit. Perfect balance.
