Second mistake opening of the week! Turns out to be single bottle from a vertical of six vintage from JR! So now there are five vintages left. But what a wine! Subdued on opening but bloomed over the next hour. Beautiful deep mature floral notes in old forest with herbs and spices and yet a lively almost light texture on palate with long finish. Yum. What a vertical tasting to be! ‘02, ‘06-07-08-10.

So much potential .. beautiful, integrate fruit and roses initially, with nice balance, but then an musty(?), slightly tannic finish. The musty thing is holding it back - is this cork taint or a storage problem or just age?
