Dark ruby in color with a purple rim.
Spicy and fruity on the nose with bell pepper, blackberries, blueberries, cherries, vanilla, licorice, light smoke, cloves and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with nice legs and high acidity.
Very mute on the attack, Tart and bone dry on the palate with cherries, strawberries, red currants, oak, vanilla, cloves, and black pepper.
Medium finish with full tannins and black pepper.
This is more of a food wine, like barbecue. Harder to drink by itself. Still young and unbalanced, but will be better in a few years.
A blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Carignan and 20% Syrah.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

May 1st, 2016I was prepared to give it 84 but it opened up a bit more after an hour so 85 is the call. Spicy without any complexity. It is a reasonably priced French blend but no desire to purchase again
