Laurence et Remi Dufaitre
(Purple Flower) Beaujolais Villages Gamay
I read that this producer, and the wine itself, are darlings of the Parisian bistro scene at the moment and the wine definitely showed off its old world style and funk. This was a interesting wine for sure with its wild raspberry notes, crushed purple flowers, mushroom earthiness, dried and crushed fall leaves and bacon fat. The palate was more savory than fruity which was great. Not a typical Beaujolais, but an interesting one to try.
