This bottle of 06 SC is different than my last. It starts with brioche, almond croissant w/powdered sugar, golden & green apple, apple cider, apple sauce, bruised pear, toffee, overripe pineapple, citrus, citrus blossoms, honey, nuts with skin and cream soda/ginger & butterscotch candy on the long open/finish. The acidity is just right. There is length, balance and a long polished finish. Mmmmmm!!!! At $60, this surpasses Krug cuvée and competes with other vintage Krug's I've had.

Green & golden apple, ripe pineapple, lemon/lime zest, bruised pear, honey, yellow florals, there's a thick/chewy taffy flavor on the roof of my mouth I remember from my youth (I want to say Now & Later but that's not quite right), creme soda, ginger ale, a slight nutty toffee quality, chalk is spot on as is the acidly and long finish. Round and balanced. Hard to find cultish Champagne.

2006. Young. Very fresh. The energy is a bit precocious. Precise. Can't wait to try it again in a few years.
