Old Vines Sweet Berry Wine Carignan

Great nose of fresh raspberries. Muddled, carbonic. Good acidity on the palate, but the fruit didn’t follow through. Awesome reference.

SWEET BERRY WINE!

Sweet Berry Wine!! While this wine was definitely not sweet, the berries (cran and rasp) were very juicy and fresh; the perfect pairing with Thanksgiving dinner. This vintage was a very interesting and well-balanced blend dominated by carignan. And not a drop of this was spit out. No way, José! 52% Carignan, 25% Zinfandel, 12% Charbono, 11% Petite Sirah. 11/24/22

Smoky on the start but some peppiness from the Zin without being too Zin-y. Enjoyable, will definitely try it a bit chilled next time as others recommended.

Bright red fruit, pomegranate and some funk. Oh so smooth. Absolutely as smooth as it gets. A little bitter on the finish. Very tasty stuff from Eric Wareheim & Co.
