Still tannic with fresh fruit, but in a very well made and relatively restrained style. The oak is well in check here too. Decant several hours or hold another 5 years.

I bought this from the Diamond Mountain winery in 2012 and cellared it until now. Patience has paid off. This wine is big, with delicious layers of rich red goodness. The body is thick and chewy, with dark red cherry and chocolate flavors predominant.

2010. I knew it. I knew I should have waited. But noooo. A powerful, complex, and elegant wine. But still so concentrated, so youthful. It really deserved 5-7 more years minimum. Dang it to heck. But, because it's already opened, I figure we might as well enjoy its deep and delightful deliciosity. Tremendous but nowhere near its peak. Double decant? Seems like it almost didn't matter. 9.4 and rising. But it won't survive another assessment.

Black fruit well ripped with sandy tannins, crisp acidity that lift the fruit, some animals notes too well integrated.

I'm a huge fan of the Larkmead cabs. They drink very well young. Round, deep, plush wines that always deliver.

would have preferred drinking this a few years earlier. Loved it when it was younger
