Back to the Outstanding category at the Langtons tasting. Langmeil claim to have the oldest vines in Australia planted in 1843 by Christian Auricht. A wonderful Barossa Shiraz. No detailed notes. So many wines to taste - so little time.

Predominant American new oak: coconut, vanilla, toast, smoke. Floral and fruity - a balanced mix of red, black, and blue fruits. High tannin, quite a bit spicy, medium to medium plus acidity. Medium minus staining.

Ripe plum, blackberry, dark cherry, biscuit and malt. Ever present tannin doused in fruit, no doubt has life ahead of it but it's youthful/upfrontness would appeal to many.

Delicious at 10 years. Earth, spice, great fruit, licorice. Starting to show developed characters but still a great life a head of it.
