It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a gorgeous one from France.

Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim.

Gorgeous nose of blackberries, black plums, black cherries, cedar, earth, vanilla, licorice, spices, black pepper, dark coffee, light alcohol, pencil lead, river rocks, light vegetables and leather.

Full bodied, soft and elegant, with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, sweet cherries, cedar, leather, earth, vegetables, vanilla, pencil lead, earth, chocolates, dark coffee, spices and peppercorn.

Long finish with firm tannins and spices.

This 9 year old Cabernet based Bordeaux is drinking very nicely now. Well balanced with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.

This is from a great vintage, and it is showing. Good right out of the bottle, and better as it opens up. Tannins come in after 30 minutes of airtime.

Still has a lot in it, and will age nicely in the next 10 years.

Thank you Steve and Alex for sharing this beauty with me.

Delicious and yummy.

I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers, but it is great to drink all by itself too.

65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

$40.
