2017 vintage. Nathalie and François Caumette make very reliable organic wines and this entry level wine is no exception. A blend of Carignan (40%), Grenache (30%), Syrah (20%) and Mourvèdre (10%) on schisteous soils. Dark red with purplish rim. Blackberries, amarena cherries and fresh rosemary in the nose. In the mouth it has power, slightly jammy fruit and an intense spiciness. The tannins are a bit rustic, but not drying. Very good length. This wine has a lot of character, more power than refinement, but excellent value at around 11 euro.
